2008 Cross Country

Cathedral High School will be hosting the Cathedral Cross Country Invitational on

**Date Change Saturday, August 30.  This is a new meet and will be held at the new Downtown Indianapolis Cross-Country Arena.  Boys and Girls, Varsity and JV races. Ben Davis is seeking teams for the 2008 Ben Davis Invite.  It is a great opportunity to run the Sectional and Regional course for those who compete at Ben Davis during the tournament.  It is historically a very competitive meet and the field is shaping up to continue to be very competitive.  The meet will be held on SATURDAY, September 13.  Please contact Assistant Athletic Director Lisa Bugay lisa.bugay@wayne.k12.in.us by email if you are interested or have any questions.

Manual Invitational (Boys and Girls), Saturday, Sept 20th, 2008 at Garfield Park, Indianapolis at 10 a.m.  This course has been used in the past for the Indianapolis Public School Athletic Conference Championship, the Indianapolis City Meet, IHSAA Sectional meets, and for the Manual Invitational ran from 1996-2002.  This is a rolling course with intermittent hills.  We are planning to have Varsity and JV levels.

Saturday, September 27, 2008 - New Haven Classic still has high school and middle school openings.  There are two divisions for high schools and one for middle school.  We give out trophies to the top 25 in each race and trophies and medals to the top 5 teams in each varsity race.  We use chip timing.  We use the same course for this meet that is used for the New Haven Semi-State.  For more information contact Larry Stemmler at LSTEMMLER@eacs.k12.in.us or (260) 446-0220 x.7282.

Southport High School is hosting its annual Southport Invitational Cross Country meet Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the new Indiana Cross Country Arena.  This meet is on a course that will become one of the best cross country meet venues in the state.

59th Annual T.C. Howe Academy Invitational on Saturday, Oct 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. hosted at Ellenberger Park.  A rolling and challenging course.  We have six races Freshman, Reserve, and Varsity in both boys and girls.  Awards go deep.  Almost no one goes away without an award.  Meet is just days before the IHSAA sectional.  It is a good meet to give those not running in the sectional (Freshman, Reserve, and those that are not in your seven running in the sectional) at any level a last race of the season or a last chance at breaking into your top seven.  Use the meet as you would like.  You can enter only the JV and Freshman races or all races.  Your choice coaches.  Contact Danny Wilson, A.D., at 317-693-5086 or at wilsondj@ips.k12.in.us  if interested.

2009 Track & Field

Indian Creek High School is looking for teams for a Co-Ed Relay meet.
We will be hosting the BRAVE Co-Ed Relays meet Friday, April 17, 2009.  We are looking to make this an annual event with 5 - 8 teams involved.  All relays will include 2 male and 2 female participants.  Field events and running events will be included.  If you would be interested in becoming a part of this new annual event contact Varsity Boys Coach Phil Arnold parnold@nhj.k12.in.us or Indian Creek Athletic Director Tim Robison trobison@nhj.k12.in.us for specific details and contract information.
